What to pack for Cuba – For female travelers

07 Feb What to pack for Cuba – For female travelers

Packing and preparing for a trip to Cuba can be challenging. One thing is for sure that it will be hot and humid, however, it can rain a lot as well. Be aware that you won’t find a shopping centre with a lot of different options of clothing or shampoos. Here is the list of what to pack for Cuba for female travelers.

GoPro HERO5 Black is the newest of all of the Go Pro’s! It launched in October 2016 and takes photos that are almost as good as the ones I take on my DSLR camera!  Go pro is a must have if you are planning on going to the beach, diving, snorkelling or hiking in Cuba. This handy little cutie has been my best friend since I got the Go Pro 2 in 2012, I used it to take photos on The Great Barrier Reef. Luckily, the quality has exploded since then! The quality on this Go Pro is so good, that I almost want to go back to the reef and shoot it all over again. You can film and take photos as deep as 30 meters underwater and this one you can go down 10 meters without housing! The Go Pro Hero 5 Black gives Stunning 4K video and 12MP photos in Single, Burst and Time Lapse modes. You can also preview and trim the videos. You can get extras like a headband, surf extras, chest band and you can place it on your bike. Older versions of this beauty have even fallen down from planes and survived!

Sunday Afternoons Havana Hat, Cream, Large You might see many of these hats in Havana, so you can wait to go to the souvenir stores to find it. Be aware that it is not like you will see it in every corner. A hat is a must in Cuba. The sun is strong there as many other places in the Caribbean so take care of your head, it is not cool to be sunburnt on top of your head.

Fashionazzle Women’s Floral Print Short Sleeve Romper (Small, Black), This romper is gorgeous and it is perfect for Cuba. It covers your shoulders which are a good thing if you don’t want to get sunburnt there.

Relipop Women Summer Floral Romper Casual Sleeveless Party Evening Mini Jumpsuit This jumpsuit is perfect for the climate in Cuba, where you will experience warm and humid days.

Sleeveless Floral Print Knit Overlay Romper Jumpsuit Black  This sleeveless jumpsuit fits during the hot days walking around the city as well as night.

Cekaso Women’s Pleated Polka Dot Skirt Vintage Summer Stretch Flared Skater Skirt, Earth Yellow Get your salsa skirt on. This cute polka dot dress is also perfect for photos in front of the classic cars in Cuba. You will blend straight in to the 50s!

MBJ WT822 Womens 3/4 Sleeve with Drape Top  You don’t need a lot of jumpers in Cuba. Make sure to bring at least one, because it can be windy near the beach o chilly at night. However, leave the warm wool jumpers at home, you won’t need them.

Cupshe Fashion Women’s Red Strappy Top Floral Printing Bottom Halter Bikini Swimsuit is a hot swimsuit with straps and floral printing. This tropical bikini is perfect for Varadero and other beach escapes in Cuba.

Women’s Basic Ribbed Cropped Tank Top Burgundy S Size

This crop top is perfect for the hot weather in Cuba. You can also wear it around the city with no shame!

Girls Walk Girls Plain Harem Trousers Pants If you are travelling through Cuba on a bus or a taxi colectivo. These pants are perfect, it is comfortable and you are covered to avoid chilly legs because of the cold air conditioning and it is black which wouldn’t show those sweat marks.

LifeStraw Go Water Bottle 2-Stage with Integrated 1,000 Liter LifeStraw Filter Award-winning LifeStraw has a water bottle! It filters while you drink! It is using a hollow fiber membrane water filter removes bacteria and protozoa without chemicals, iodine or batteries. It gives no aftertaste and smell! It Removes 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria. This is essential for travelling to places with polluted drinking water! It also includes a bonus survival kit.

6 in 1 Travel Essentials Kit is truly essential, it has a TSA lock, luggage scale, adapter, ear plugs, eye mask and waterproof passport cover. This is the perfect gift for the beginner-traveler that doesn’t own it already, and it is only $16! If there are ONE of these gifts that are really essential, it definitely is this 6 in 1 kit.

ASICS Women’s Gel Quick WK 2 Walking Shoe is a must for the uneven cobblestone around Old Havana and please please don’t walk around with ballerinas all day it will hurt your feet and give you blisters.

Ecco Footwear Womens Damara Ankle Gladiator Sandal is perfect for short walks and the beach in Cuba. I would use the walking shoes above instead of these while walking around in Havana.

Lonely Planet Cuba (Travel Guide)

I don’t know what we would have done without the Lonely Planet Cuba book! It seriously was a life-saver. It answers all your questions about everything to prepare for your trip to Cuba. It tells you what to expect, what to see, eat, and do in the places you want to go and with a little description about each place. Know you won’t have internet access everywhere in Cuba. Only at some specific places like parks etc and it is expensive and shit. You can’t just use google map or search for something on TripAdvisor. This book has done all the research for you. The book also has a detailed map of Havana, suburbs of Havana and also map of all of the other destinations. It also has contact details to recommended Casa Particulares! So make sure you get this book and buy it a few months before, so you can read through it and prepare yourself for the trip. This book will save you a lot of time and stress while you are in Cuba as well.

Extreme Cateyes Retro Vintage Celebrity Inspired High Pointed Frame Sunglasses I love these sunglasses, along with the polka dot skirt it will be a perfect 50s outfit in Cuba. It looks great on pictures.

Vbiger Canvas Backpack Casual School Bag Travel Daypack for Girl  I love the pattern on this bag. It is so cool and unique. I usually recommend an anti-theft backpack for travelling, but in Cuba, you seriously don’t need it. It is super safe.

Large Water Resistant Canvas Striped Beach Bag – Inside Lining, Zippered Inner Pocket, Top Handle  This casual beach bag is perfect for beach escapes and it is water resistant as well.

Convenience Kits Women’s Garnier Fructis Deluxe 9-Piece Travel Kit This kit is so handy. I hate to put my shampoo into small bottles or boxes, it just ends up spilling it all out. This kit got you covered. Shampoo, Conditioner, toothbrush, comb, deodorant, Eucerin lotion and toothpaste. It is all carry on friendly. This kit is essential for Cuba and don’t forget it! You won’t find your favourite products in the stores there.

Moroccanoil Summer Travel Essentials Style Kit I love these products. It is perfect for split ends it provides long-term conditioning and best of all it is sulfate free, paraben free, protein free, glycerin free

RockBirds SL89 Portable Soft Silicone Travel bottles Set, FDA Certificated, TSA Approved 89ml 3 Pack If you decide to bring your own shampoos, soap and moisturiser this is a must. As I have said earlier you won’t find your favourite products in Cuba, so be sure to bring them. These beautiful bottles are also carry-on friendly.

L’Oreal Paris Advanced Suncare Suncare Silky Sheer Lotion, SPF 30 3 fl oz Pack of 2 The sun is strong in Cuba. Be sure to bring a suncream as it is hard to find it in Cuba for a reasonable price.
