3 Things You Should Think About When Booking Your Boutique Hotel

When we think about booking a boutique hotel, we think about the many things we require from a good hotel but the most important thing is its location. It might be beautiful, it might have excellent service and staff but if it is in the back end of nowhere, then we don’t want to stay there.

For the majority of people, the location of the hotel is the most important factor as it needs to be near the airport but far enough away that we can’t hear the airplanes taking off and landing, but also close enough to the main tourist attractions.

Here are other factors you should consider when looking for a boutique hotel.

1. Close To Attractions

When you come to any country or city, you are coming there for a reason and it is usually to see or take part in the popular tourist attractions. We don’t expect these attractions to be on our doorstep, but we definitely don’t want them too far away that we have to travel for an hour or more. If you’re travelling in Asia, then a great choice would be to stay in one of the luxury boutique hotels in Thailand by Secret Retreats. You may have heard of the great food available there, so there is an expectation that there will be local restaurants close to your hotel as well as some bars and night spots.

2. Public Transport

If your hotel is in a central area, then there should be transportation links close by. Taxis can normally be ordered from the reception in your hotel and there should be train and bus stop points within easy walking distance. None of us want to be spending most of our holiday vacation sitting in traffic jams, and we definitely don’t want to be spending our holiday budget on transport, as we try to find our way around an unknown city or area, so if a hotel provides a complimentary car, taxi, or bus when you need to go into town, then that’s great.

3. Central Point

If your boutique hotel is in a more central location, then it makes it much easier to get around. If you want to venture out on foot, then starting off from a central point means that as long as you don’t walk too far, you will always be able to turn around and get back to your hotel. Because of the central location, after a few tries, you should be able to get to know the area quite well and other tourists might even think you are a local. For those of you who want to know more about the benefits of boutique hotels, there are good articles on the topic that you can refer to.

There really needs to be some excellent restaurants and shops close to your hotel, but you could be really lucky and find a boutique hotel that has its own. Enjoying fine wine and food is what a good holiday is all about, so look for local restaurants that the locals frequent. That way you know you can’t go wrong.
