7 Amazing Things to Do in Valle de Guadalupe
Valle de Guadalupe is the must-visit region for wine lovers. But whilst its wineries are open all year round, there are so many other great things to do in Valle de Guadalupe.
Here are the top 7 things you should do if you're visiting.
1. Make Your Own Wine
Of course, the first thing you should do is visit a winery and taste some of the exquisite wines on offer in this region.
But what would be even better, is if you visited the Interactive Oenological Laboratory, where you can make your own bottle of wine to take home! You can enjoy learning about the process of making wine and the characteristics of different grape varieties. Be guided through creating two wines to taste before deciding which you like better. Bottling it, and design your own label.
Obviously, if you'd rather just have a drink than make the wine yourself there are plenty of wineries you can visit. There are over 75 wineries in Ruta del Vino.Bodegas Magoni is a favorite, with around 70 experimental varieties being grown and made into delicious wine.
2. Visit the Animals
One of the best things to do in Valle de Guadalupe, especially if you have children, is to visit the zoo. They have lions, tigers, reptiles, sea creatures, and more!
There are a number of experiences available plus a great play park. Up to five people can enjoy a VIP experience, where you can learn about and join in with feeding the animals. Or you can become a zookeeper for a day, with food and drink included.
There are also guided tours and events on special occasions throughout the year.
3. Foodie Things to Do in Valle De Guadalupe
Most wineries also have an excellent restaurant. Make sure to check ahead, as if you're visiting a winery you could also experience some exquisite food.
If you're not in the mood for a vineyard tour and wine tasting there are lots of great stand-alone restaurants to visit .La Cocina de Doña Esthela is a great place to grab a bite for breakfast or lunch and has over 4000 reviews on Facebook. It's a great local place, serving traditional Mexican food.
For something a little more unusual check out the Raw Oyster Bar. Here you can enjoy fresh oysters and clams, battered oysters, oyster croquettes, and even oyster shots! There's also a great view from their terrace.
As well as excellent restaurants, you can also enjoy the Valle Food and Wine Fest. Unfortunately, this has been canceled for 2020, but if you're visiting at the beginning of October next year you should definitely check it out!

6. Visit El Salto
This great beauty spot has everything you need. If you want to spend more than a day here, you can bring your tent. They have a special camping area, with bathrooms, volleyball courts, and a small shop. They also have a cabin if you don't like tents.
There is a range of activities on offer too. Surrounded by incredible rock faces, you can go rappelling with their expert guides and discover wonderful places. It's suitable for kids too.
For something a little closer to the ground, they have guides available for trekking. Relax along new routes and take in the magnificent nature. They advise you to wear comfortable clothes and bring plenty of water and snacks.
Finally, if you want to have a BBQ, there are grills available for you to use in their picnic area. They are even available for private hire.
